I get a monthly letter from World Challenge-David Wilkerson.  This one really makes me look at things that are happening with a new eye. What do you think?

The following is all quoted from his letter.

GOD IS FAITHFUL

Nearly everyone I know is going through what they say is the greatest time of testing in their lifetime. In letters and e-mails from around the world, I read the same thing:  "We are experiencing the hardest, most painful time in our lives."  This cry comes from the elderly, the middle aged, and the young.

We hear much about financial stress, family problems, difficult and troubled marriages. But these kinds of problems have existed for many years.  I have in my library old books telling of the same kinds of testings happening over 200 yrs. ago.  We know things were extremely bad in the late 1930s, during the Great Depression. And 1918 was a critical time, when a devastating flu pandemic killed 50 to 60 million people worldwide. Millions in America died during that disaster.

There is something different about what is happening today. During the Depression, it was financial stress. During the flu crisis it was a single disaster that caused fear and uncertainty. Today, all these things are coming at us in combination: flu pandemic, financial crises, national calamities worldwide.

But there is something even deeper and more sinister than all of these frightful happenings.  It is this: the body of Christ, consisting of devoted disciples of Jesus, is under attack from principalities and powers of hell. An angry devil who knows his time is short has waged all-out war against the righteous.  Satan has seen the handwriting on the wall, and he is dispatching his demonic army against Christ's most devoted children.

Those who are wholly given to Christ, who seek him and love him dearly, are now set up as targets of the enemy's wrath. Every reader who prays and serves the Lord understands what I am saying.  You have discernment from the Holy Spirit that what you are experiencing is warfare against your mind. Satan is infusing your thoughts with fears, discouragement, temptations, depression. He is after your faith, wanting to so discourage you that you'll quit the fight.  Make no mistake about it: the war is for your minds.

In my own spiritual warfare, the Holy Spirit continually whispers to me, "Do not be alarmed. These thoughts are from the enemy. You are under Satan's attack. So, just be still. Do not judge yourself, and do not fear. Rest in the knowledge that the Spirit of God is in you.  God is greater in you; you will not go down." It is time for us all to take a stand on this Word: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed(fixed) on thee; because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength" (Isaiah 26:3-4)

A closing thought: let us all pray for one another that our strength will not fail-that we will wholly trust the Lord in and through all things.   end of quote

I would love to hear your thoughts.

In Christ,

Do you need a blessing? Read on.

Yesterday was the funeral of Whitie Seabright. Today I was looking at the program for his service. On the front is one of his favorite verses."Cast your cares on the LORD, and he will sustain you..." Psalm 55:22 (NIV).

You will be blessed if you take a minute and reread this verse with emphasis on the first word.-----cast your cares on the LORD, and he will sustain you...Now read it again. This time put emphasis on the second word-----cast your cares on the Lord, and he will sustain you...Go thru the whole verse putting emphasis on the subsequent word. If you are not very blessed by the time you finish, maybe you need to set up an appointment with Pastor.

Mini-sermon from the garden lady

Good Morning to all. As I sit on my porch, I see the flowers all around. It looks beautiful. But when I get off the porch--look closer--there are more weeds this year than ever.

For those of you that don't garden--when weeds are little, they are easy to pull up but if your not paying attention, they get big, have babies, and choke out the good flowers around them.

I feel like God is telling me to compare weeds to sin in my life. NOTICE! look around, is there sin? Get it out early before it grows, has babies and chokes out the good! Let's grow--with no weeds--for Him. Ask Him to show us the weeds. GET RID OF THEM. You can't grow to your full potential if weeds are holding you down.

Blessing, Sherry

There is a bird house beside our porch. I can hear babies squalling for food. At first you could barely hear them. Now, I can hear there chatter clear through the house. The parents make a low hoarse sound when they bring the food. The babies start chirping as soon as the parents land on the house. They drop off the food and immediately fly off to get more. There is another house out in the yard. I don't think the babies are here yet. Momma bird is very fat and they are both carrying in things to make the nest. They have a beautiful song. This morning I read Zephaniah 3:17 (personalized)

The Lord MY God is with ME, he is mighty to save. (ME) He will take great delight in ME, he will quiet ME with his love, he will rejoice over ME with singing.

I think my little birds are the great God almighty singing to ME!!! Isn't that cool. We are blessed!!!

AT YOUR FEET

The praise I owe

from my heart should flow,

yet my life gets in the way.

I love you so!

Do you really know?

For I haven't been able to say.

I'm humbled inside

to be called your bride

on that not to distant day.

You'll come in a cloud

with a thundercalp loud!

THEN at Your feet I'll lay.

Let's not wait to praise him. Tomorrow may be too late. Praise Now! Are you having a good day? Praise Him. Are you having a bad day? Praise Him. Are you sick, poor, tired, just too weary to pray? Praise Him. Psalm 146:1, 147:1, 148:1, 149:1, 150:1. He is not asking!!!! is He?  Have a great day.
